- 6-10 years in public accounting
- Heavy experience reviewing partnership and individual tax returns
- CPA, Masters in Taxation preferred
- Hedge fund or private equity experience is a plus
Specific responsibilities as follows:
- Manage and review all compliance & projection work prepared (referenced below) by two tax staff accountants
- Federal and State partnership tax returns for the hedge fund and management company
- Federal and State (primarily New York/New York City) tax returns for the individual partners of the management company, their respective family limited partnerships, and their respective family trusts
- Other Federal and State tax returns for the company-related entities. Types of returns include Partnerships (1065), C corporations (1120), S corporations (1120S), Foreign Corporations (1120F), Employee Benefit Plans (5500), Exempt Organizations (990), Gift Tax returns (709)
- Monthly tax projections for the hedge funds
- Quarterly estimated tax projections for the individual partners of the management company
- Work with outside accountants to facilitate their review of all applicable compliance work
- Various tax planning and research projects for company’s entities and management company partners
- Assist Tax Director with any investor relations questions/issues that might arise throughout the year
- Assist Tax Director in resolution of any IRS or State tax audits
- Oversee U.S. tax withholding issues associated with foreign funds and investors
